Ex. Tenn. deputy sentenced after posing as teen online to exploit children

YORK CO., S.C. – An investigation that began with a vigilant York County parent has ended with a former Tennessee Sheriff’s deputy being sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.

Federal officials say 27-year-old Johnathan Allen used his position as a law enforcement officer to disguise a dark double life online.

Detectives discovered Allen was posing as a 14-year-old boy online to target and exploit eight children across five different states. When he gets out of prison in 25 years, Allen must register as a sex offender.
