The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a bicyclist in north Charlotte earlier this month.
Police say Dylan Leviner, 24, was speeding on August, 11th, 2018, when his Infiniti G35 hit and killed 18-year-old Miquase “Mikey’ Maddox, who was riding a bike on Old Concord Road.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Leviner’s arrest on August 20th, 2018 and he turned himself in to CMPD police officers on August 21st, 2018.
Leviner is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead after a vehicle collided with a bicyclist in north Charlotte early Saturday morning.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says on August 11th, 2018, at about 1:09 a.m., officers responded to reports of a crash in the 9700 block of Old Concord Road.
Arriving officers located a a bicyclist on the side of the road and a damaged 2003 Infiniti G35. A witness traveling behind the Infiniti G35 stayed at the scene as well.
Medic pronounced the bicyclist, 18-year-old Miquase Corey Maddox, dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined that Mr. Maddox was traveling southwest on Old Concord Road against traffic. The driver of the 2003 Infinity G35 was traveling northeast when he collided with Mr. Maddox.
Investigators say Mr. Maddox was not wearing a helmet. Impairment is not a factor for the driver of the Infinity G35 and both he and the passenger were wearing a seatbelt.
Speed is an unknown factor for the driver of the Infinity G35 and the case is still under investigation.
