Child Passenger Safety Week: Car seat safety tips for parents
An average of three children are killed every day in traffic crashes.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – September is Baby Safety Month and this week is Child Passenger Safety Week. If you have a child in a car seat there is a good chance you have wondered, am I doing this right?
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an average of three children are killed and 439 children are injured every day in traffic crashes.
Sarah Tilton from Britax joined Rising Tuesday morning to help break down some of the biggest car seat mistakes.
There will be a local Car Seat Check happening this Friday, September 25th from 10:00am 1:00 pm at the Mecklenburg Health Department. That address is 249 Billingsley Rd, Charlotte, NC.
There will also be a community Car Seat Check Event on October 23, 2026 at the Walmart Supercenter in Tega Cay. During the event, parents and caregivers can have their car seats inspected by certified technicians and instructors to ensure they are installed correctly and being used safely.
