Queens University to become Queens College after merger with Elon University

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University will return to the name Queens College after it merges with Elon University.

The announcement comes one year after the two schools agreed to combine. After the merger gets regulatory approvals, Queens College will be a part of Elon University, rather than a separate school.

We’re still waiting to learn what the change will mean for the schools’ athletic programs. The schools say they intend to preserve both the traditions of the Queens Royals and the Elon Phoenix.

Queens University previously used the name Queens College until 2002.
