BOONE, N.C. – Boone Police have identified the driver responsible for a hit and run collision that injured two pedestrians.
Boone Police, Fire and Watauga County EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two pedestrians near 1358 West King Street by the intersection at Highway 321 in Boone. According to initial investigation, a vehicle left the roadway and struck two individuals who were walking alongside the roadway. The crash caused potentially life-threatening injuries and the vehicle left the scene.
Joshua Dotson, 20, and Deedra McCullough, 29, were the two victims of the incident. They were transported to Watauga Medical Center for treatment.
Further investigation led authorities to the vehicle believed to had fled the scene. Boone Police charged Tristan Schreiber six days later. Schreiber, 29 has been charged with two counts of felony hit and run resulting in bodily injury and one count of failure to maintain lane control.
Schreiber has been taken to the Watauga County Detention Center and received no bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 25th.
