Local mom shares story of Warrior Jace Thompson Foundation, urges parents to advocate for their kids’ health

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 41 children are diagnosed with cancer every day in the United States, according to childrenscancer.org.

Jace Kinley Thompson from Stanly County was diagnosed with DIPG, a terminal pediatric brain cancer, at the age of four. He was courageous, and he bravely fought for 347 days before leaving us on October 5th, 2018.

Jace’s mom Jennifer Thompson joined WCCB Charlotte’s Kaitlin Wright on Rising to share Jace’s story, and urge parents to advocate for their kids’ health. Jennifer is also the president of the Warrior Jace Thompson Foundation, which has raised and donated approximately $350,000 for DIPG research over the past six years.
