Lincoln Co. inmate accused of throwing “unknown liquid substance” from toilet in officer’s face

LINCOLN CO., N.C. – A Lincoln County inmate is accused of assaulting staff and trying to break out of his cell. Investigators say 26-year-old Sebastian Elliot-Ginestri was placed in a cell by himself after being involved in a fight inside the shower area on Saturday.

The next day, he blocked the officers’ view of his cell using a towel. When officers tried to remove it, Elliot-Ginestri is accused of throwing an “unknown liquid substance” from the toilet in one officer’s face, while hitting another on the arm.

The Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office says the officer who was hit in the face with the liquid was treated, tested, and released from the hospital with negative results.

Elliot-Ginestri is now facing seven charges including malicious conduct by prisoner and escape or breach of confinement facility.
