CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Providence Health Center’s Dr. Tony Hyser tells us how to deal with under eye bags and dark circles while explaining the causes.
Hyser says there is a difference between the two. Dark circles are normally caused from thin skin under the eye when the blood vessels are more visible.
The main causes are genetics, age, sun use and poor sleep. Moisturizing with collagen supporting lotions can help dark under eye circles. Avoiding smoking, getting proper sleep and water intake can also help.
Puffy eyes are usually from swelling or sunken in skin. Causes of puffy eyes include allergies, dehydration, crying or excess salt.
Cold compressions, allergy relief and balancing salt and potassium can help control puffy eyes.
