Charlotte nonprofit restores dignity, one shower at a time

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte nonprofit is helping restore dignity to people experiencing homelessness, one shower at a time.

Project Outpour operates mobile showers at five locations across Charlotte, Monday through Friday, providing free showers, clean clothing and hygiene supplies to people experiencing homelessness.

Executive Director Laura Gorecki joined Rising to discuss the challanges facing the city’s unhoused population and how the organization connects people with additional resources and support.

The nonprofit is also hosting its annual Outpour Fest fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Petty Thieves Brewing in Charlotte.
