SLED investigating after York Co. Sheriff’s deputies shoot and injure suspect

YORK CO., S.C. – SLED is investigating after York County Sheriff’s deputies shot and injured a suspect.  It happened around 11:30 Wednesday morning, as deputies were helping Clover Police find a person with outstanding warrants.

When a deputy found and tried to pull the person over, we’re told they led the deputy on a short chase, ending on Lloyd White Road near the state line. Investigators say the person crashed into a ditch, then pointed a gun toward a deputy. Two deputies then fired,  hitting the person.

We don’t have any updates on their condition, but we do know that no deputies were hurt.
