In-person early voting underway in North Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In-person early voting for the midterm election is officially underway in North Carolina. As of Thursday morning, polling sites across the state and right here in Mecklenburg County are open for voters looking to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day.

There are 25 early voting sites in Mecklenburg County. The 17-day early voting period runs through October 31st. Voters who spoke with us say high inflation and the economy are driving them to the polls early to make sure their voices are heard.

“Go ahead and get it over with because I have a lot of things to get done and  I sure didn’t want to miss it. Didn’t want to miss it at all. The way things are, the way things are now, you know, economics and everything else, we need a change,” says voter Anthony Blocker.

North Carolina voters will be asked to show an acceptable photo ID when checking in.
