CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Detectives are investigating a fatal hit and run that occurred on Friday, October 23rd.
Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Officers located a juvenile with life threatening injuries. The vehicle involved fled the area.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the juvenile was crossing at the intersection of Barrington Drive and Lancecrest Drive when she was struck. 6-year-old Mariana Espinoza has been identified as the victim of this accident.
This investigation remains ongoing.
