COLUMBIA, S.C. — Officials say Hurricane Florence has slightly weakened to a category three hurricane with speeds of 125 miles per hour, but is expected to be a long duration, high impact, event for most of South Carolina.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster described the hurricane as “unpredictable” and implored anyone in an evacuation zone to leave immediately.
Governor McMaster said that over 300,000 people had already evacuated coastal areas of South Carolina.
