CHARLOTTE, N.C. — School systems across the country are seeing a teacher diversity gap. Dean of UNC Charlotte’s College of Education, Dr. Ellen McIntyre, is talking about the impact local universities are seeing.
A recent study by the Center for American Progress and the National Education Association has brought the disparity to the forefront.
Schools now look to programs to close the gap while making that teacher-student diversity more balanced.
