UNDATED (AP) — The Heat and Spurs won the opening games of their second-round NBA playoff series last night. Miami defeated the Nets 107-86 while the Spurs slapped the Blazers 116-92. The second game in each series is slated for tomorrow night, once again in Miami and San Antonio.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Kevin Durant has ended the reign of LeBron James as NBA MVP. Durant was named the winner of this year’s award yesterday after a season in which he led the league in scoring at 32 points a game along with 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists a game. His Oklahoma City Thunder had a regular-season record of 59-23.
NEW YORK (AP) —The Rangers are playing host to the Penguins in Game 4 of their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series this evening. Visiting Pittsburgh has the series lead 2-1 with wins in the last two games. The next game in the series will take place Friday night in the Steel City.
TORONTO (AP) — Baseball still does not have a six-game winner. That could change tonight as Toronto’s Mark Buehrle (BUR’-lee) gets the ball against the Phillies in Toronto. On the year Buehrle is 5-1 with a 2.25 earned run average. He has allowed just 10 earned runs this season.
