MONROE, N.C. — The City of Monroe Water Resources Department says that all lakes are open and operating on a normal schedule.
The Water Resource Department advises all boaters to use caution when operating on city lakes due to the significant rainfall this week.
Officials say floating and submerged debris could make boating conditions hazardous. According to city, the level of Lake Lee is almost three feet below normal levels due to the damage on the dam flash board system. The city is currently working to repair the damage.
Boaters can enter the lakes at their own risk.
Hours of operation vary but are generally sunrise to sunset and can be confirmed at the Lake Inspector stations at each lake.
