CHARLOTTE, NC — A JROTC instructor at Independence High School is facing several charges related to the sexual assault of two students.
Brad Gibson, 52, was arrested Wednesday after turning himself in to investigators for questioning. Police say the initial allegations were made by a 15-year-old female victim on Wednesday, September 12.
The victim accused Gibson of sexually assaulting her in early 2018 while she was a student at Independence. According to reports, all of the assaults took place on school grounds.
During the investigation, detectives found a second victim who was reportedly assaulted by Gibson at the age of 17. Police say she was also student at Independence High when the assault occurred in 2010.
Gibson has been charged with six counts of Indecent Liberties with a Student and three counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor.
