Horses Rescued from Floodwaters
PENDER CO., NC — Two horses were stuck in Florence flood water up to their necks, until a New Jersey rescue team just happened to pass by them. The rescuers were on a call to save nine dogs when they found the horses by chance.
“There are so many people, desperate homeowners, that had to be evacuated by chopper and were not able to bring their pets with them, and they are desperate and crying and begging for help, and we have to respond to that,” said Niki Dawson with Guardians of Rescue.
The rescue team brought the horses to the only safe spot they could find for miles… an elevated porch. They left the horses there with some hay.
