CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a woman was killed after a man fell asleep at the wheel and collided head-on into her vehicle. Β The accident happened Wednesday morning around 9am on Steele Creek Road in southeast Charlotte. Β
Investigators charged Trungquan Tran with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Β He is accused of falling asleep and crashing into a woman who was driving a Volkswagen Passat. Β
Debra Passat was pronounced dead a short time after the crash. Β Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this wreck. Β
