Suspect Arrested In East Charlotte Homicide

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have arrested a suspect in connection to an October homicide in east Charlotte that left one person dead.

Everette Campbell, 19, was arrested Thursday in Laurinburg, NC, and charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Officials say the process to extradite Campbell back to Mecklenburg County has begun, but did not say how long that process will take.

CMPD says 57-year-old Donald Myers was pronounced dead after a shooting was reported just before 9pm on Friday, October 19th at the Heritage Park Apartments on Snow Lane.

A woman, who police say witnessed the crime, was also reportedly transported to the hospital due to distress.
