Statesville Police Arrest Two Teens Accused Of Robbing Man At Knifepoint

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Statesville Police say they arrested a 17-year-old and a juvenile for a robbery that happened on October 14th.

The victim told officers that one of the suspects was an acquaintance and contacted him for a ride.  The victim allegedly picked up the suspect and another teen, who was with him, in the area of Ballingarry Drive.

The victim reportedly drove the two suspects to the parking lot of Windrush Apartments.  Once they arrived at the apartment complex, police say one of the suspects grabbed the victim from behind and held what appeared to be a knife to him while the other suspect searched the victim for money.

The victim stated that he didn’t have any money on him and offered to take the robbery suspects to his residence where his wallet was located.

The victim drove back to his residence and one of the suspects went inside with him, according to a news release.  The victim supposedly alerted his cousin, who was also inside the residence, that he was being robbed and the two men attempted to detain the suspect and call police.  However, the suspect was able to get out of the residence via a side door.

Police say the two suspects were observed fleeing on foot in the direction of the Bi-Lo parking lot.  A short time later, officers were able to locate the suspects and take them into custody.

Tarrance Brown, 17, and a 15-year-old juvenile were both arrested and charged with the robbery.
