CMPD Charges 14-Year-Old Girl In Connection To Carjacking

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 14-year-old girl is facing several charges after police say she was involved in a carjacking Wednesday.

The crime occurred at the intersection of Knickerbocker Drive and Knell Road. The victim tells police she was stopped at a stop sign when several suspects surrounded her 2012 Chevrolet Malibu.

A man then reportedly pulled her from the vehicle, and drove off with the other suspects.

CMPD says they found the teen, who matched a suspect description, and placed her under arrest. She is charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Common Law Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Common Law Robbery and Kidnapping.

Police say the suspect has been transferred to the Cabarrus County Juvenile Detention Center. Because she is a juvenile, her name will not be released.
