LINCOLNTON, N.C. — An Ohio man has been arrested for the theft of landscaping equipment from a Denver, North Carolina Landscaping company in 2016.
Employees at New River Landscaping in Denver reported two landscaping trucks stolen on October 25th, 2016. The equipment in the trucks were valued at $139,000.
The two 2016 Isuzu trucks were found later the same day near Blacksburg, South Carolina but the equipment had been removed.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective Greg Hager received information naming Kenneth Lee Bella Sr., 42, Of Cleveland, Ohio as a suspect in October of 2018.
Bella was arrested in Independence, Ohio during a traffic stop on October 24th, 2018. A Cuyahoga County, Ohio judge waived extradition to North Carolina and Bella was picked up by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Johnson and Detective Hager on October 30th.
Bella is charged with with two felony counts each of Larceny, Possession of Stolen Goods and Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. Outstanding warrants were served on Bella from Forest City, North Carolina Police Department for felony Possession of Stolen Goods and felony Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. The suspect had also been entered in NCIC by Rock Hill, South Carolina Police Department for breaking and entering a vehicle in 2016.
Bella is being held in Lincoln County without bond.
