Funeral Details Released For Dallas Police Officer Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash

DALLAS, N.C. — Funeral details were released Friday for Corporal Travis Wells, who was killed in an accident Thursday morning.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the First Assembly of God located at 777 South Myrtle School Road in Gastonia. Visitation will last from noon until 1:45pm, and the service will begin at 2pm.

Officials say Wells will receive full law enforcement honors. There will not be a procession following the service.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident that happened in Gaston County around 10am on Dallas Bessemer City Highway in Dallas.  The road was closed for several hours following the crash.

Authorities say Corporal Wells was a 22 year veteran with Dallas PD, and was on duty but not responding to a call when his vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree.
