FORT MILL, SC — The Fort Mill High School Band is now collecting new and gently worn shoes as part of a fundraiser to help pay for their spring trip.
The Fort Mill Band will use money they collect through the shoe drive fundraiser to help fund their trip to the Harrogate Music Festival in England in April 2019. They are one of several select bands chosen from around the world to perform at the festival.
The shoes collected will be donated to an organization called Funds2Orgs. The organization pays based on the total weight of shoes donated, and then redistributes them to micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries who are in need of jobs and economic opportunity.
The group says proceeds from the sales of shoes collected through these type fundraisers help feed, clothe and house families.
Anyone wishing to donate new and gently used men’s, women’s and children’s shoes in all styles and sizes can do so now through November 21st at the following locations:
