CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the suspect wanted in connection to a woman being raped overnight Thursday while walking near Uptown has been arrested.
Robert Thomas, Jr. was arrested Wednesday on charges of 1st degree rape, kidnapping, robbery and possession of stolen property, police say.
The incident happened just after 3am on November 1st while the 25-year-old victim was walking along E. Morehead Street. The victim told police Thomas approached her and then sexually assaulted her.
Thomas also reportedly took the victim’s cell phone during the assault.
