Carolina Panthers Host 5th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony Outside Bank of America Stadium
CHARLOTTE, NC — The Carolina Panthers’ Fifth Annual Tree Lighting took place Tuesday night outside of Bank of America Stadium.
The free celebration started around 6pm in Uptown on the corner of Mint Street and Graham Street.
Panthers fans were entertained by appearances from Sir Purr, the TopCats Cheerleaders, the PurrCussion Drumline and the Black & Blue Crew. The tree lighting ceremony program also included performances featuring the USO Show Troupe, as well as children’s activities, holiday movies, festive music and a special visit from Santa Claus.
The main event took place around 7:30pm when fans watched Panthers’ owner David Tepper light the nearly 60 feet tall Norway Spruce, which was harvested in Linville, N.C. Officials say the tree is covered in about 60,000 lights.
