YORK COUNTY, SC — York County says residents will notice a delay in receiving their real/personal property tax bills for 2018.
The county says the delay seems to have resulted from internal staffing issues with their vendor. The following information was released Friday afternoon by York County officials:
“This is to notify the public regarding the delay in receiving your real/personal property tax bills for 2018. The vendor informed York County yesterday that the grouped mail was sent to the post office yesterday (those that have multiple bills going to the same address/name). York County calculated 141,789 tax bills this year. Of those, 25,000 were grouped resulting in 1,686 pieces of mail being sent to the post office yesterday. The remaining 116,789 tax bills are being placed in envelopes now and at the latest will be mailed on Monday, November 19th. They have to be mailed all together due to postage. Representatives from the vendor have indicated that there are internal staffing issues that resulted in the delay. York County has also been informed that we are not the only County affected by these delays. If you have any questions, please contact the Auditor’s Office at 803-909-7171 in Rock Hill or 803-684-8501 in York.”
