CMPD Releases More Images Of Man Wanted For Carjacking, Attempted Sexual Assault In South Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives have released more images of a man who they say carjacked a woman and attempted to sexually assault her in south Charlotte.

The incident began at an ATM in the 1600 block of Woodlawn Road just after 2 a.m. on Saturday morning.  The 22-year-old victim was approached by an unknown male who forced himself into her car with a weapon.  The suspect then drove to another location and attempted to sexually assault the victim.

The suspect is described as a black make about 5′ 10′, last seen wearing jeans and possibly a gray and white two-tone jacket.  The suspect was also wearing black and white shoes, a black hat, and a gray mask covering his nose and mouth.

The suspect may be driving the victim’s 2009 Hyundai Sonata, with South Carolina tag PEJ-947.  Anyone with information is asked to immediately call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or 911.
