Sheriff: 3 Charged After 3-Year-Old Shot In Chesterfield County
CHERAW, SC — The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office says three people have been arrested after a toddler was shot Thursday morning.
The child’s mother, 19-year-old Destiny Anderson, and 18-year-olds Courtez Robinson and Consistence Harrington have each been charged Unlawful Conduct to a Minor. Anderson is also charged with Giving False Information to Police, and Robinson is additionally charged with Possession of a Stolen Weapon.
Sheriff Jay Brooks confirmed the shooting happened shortly after 11am at a home on Cleveland Street. The 3-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital in Columbia for treatment.
He is currently listed as critical but stable condition.
Sheriff Brooks says there were four adults in the home smoking marijuana when the shooting occurred, and it is believed to have been accidental.
