$150K in Damages in Gastonia House Fire

GASTONIA, N.C.– Multiple fire departments responded to a house fire early Saturday morning in Gastonia.  

At 4:22 a.m. Saturday the Gastonia Fire Department, Union Road Volunteer Fire Department and the Lowell Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1000 block of Black Oak Drive.  

When firefighters arrived at the scene they observed a two story house with heavy fire showing. After entering the house they found heavy fire in the attic.

Firefighters controlled the fire in approximately 20 minutes.  

At the time of the fire the resident of the home was out of town.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damages.

The Gastonia Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
