Two People Shot While Driving on Independence Boulevard

CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Two people were shot Saturday while driving on Independence Boulevard.

Police say two people were driving a Ford Expedition in-bound on Independence Boulevard around 11 a.m. when a car traveling in the same direction shot at least once into their car.

Both occupants of the Expediton were transported to Carolinas Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

After the shooting, another car crashed into the Expedition.  The driver of that car was transported to the hospital.

Police do not think this shooting was random and say the victims have not been cooperative with police.

Police say the suspect in the shooting may have been driving a black Chevy Impala.
