BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — A 59-year-old man has been arrested after deputies say he shot a woman and left her with serious injures over the weekend in Morganton.
On Saturday, Dec. 8, deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home at 1309 Hilldale Lane where they located Muranda Brook Walker of Morganton suffering from a gunshot wound.
Burke County Emergency Medical Service personnel and first responders from Oak Hill Fire Department responded to the scene and transported Walker to CHS Blue Ridge in Morganton, and then to Atrium Health in Charlotte.
After a thorough investigation, deputies charged 59-year-old Bryan Keith Williams with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Williams’ court date was yesterday. He is being held on a $100,000 secured bond.
