Man Arrested In Connection To Two Armed Robberies In Southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection to two armed robberies in southeast Charlotte.

Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were called on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. to the 6500 block of Yateswood Drive where Marquez Alston and another man robbed a victim while he was working on his car. The suspects were armed at the time.

Alston and the other suspect forced the victim to go inside his home and then demanded property from everyone inside.

A short time later around 4:35 p.m., officers were called to another armed robbery in the 8000 block of Sherrington Way where a victim was working on his car when he was robbed by two suspects, including Alston, at gunpoint.

Police have charged Alston with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, felony breaking and entering, kidnapping and four counts of false imprisonment.

Alston was wearing an electronic monitoring device at the time of both incidents.
