Two More Teens Arrested In Connection To Deadly December Shooting In Cabarrus County

Detectives say their investigation into a deadly shooting in Harrisburg has led to two more arrests.

Garielle Dabney, 18, of Charlotte, has been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.  She is being held under a $250,000 bond.

Three other suspects have been charged in connection with the shooting that killed Taryn Presley, Jr. and injured Nicholas Body.  Read the details below for more information on the murder investigation.

HARRISBURG, NC — Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Deputies have charged three suspects in connection to a December 28th shooting that left one dead and another injured.

Nicholas Brooks, 17, of Harrisburg, Jaylen Tyson, 19, of Charlotte, and Joenel Santiago, 17, or Harrisburg, are each facing charges related to the shooting death of Taryn Presley, Jr., 20, of Kannapolis.

The CCSO says the shooting happened around 9:50pm near Harrisburg Park on Sims Parkway. Responding deputies found two victims with gunshot wounds, later identified as Taryn Presley, Jr. and Nicholas Body, 18, of Concord.

Presley died at the hospital from injuries on December 29th, deputies say, and Body was treated and released.

Investigators say the victims and suspects did know each other, but have not said what led to the shooting.

Brooks and Tyson are each charged with Murder and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Santiago is charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
