Probation Check Leads To 4 Arrests And Multiple Drug Charges

CONNELLY SPRINGS, NC — Burke County deputies have charged four suspects with multiple drug related crimes.

The arrests were made on January 4th after officials say a probation officer visited the home of Andrew Cole, 36, on Miller Bridge Road. Cole was currently on probation at that address, officials say.

Authorities reportedly located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the residence.

In addition to Cole, deputies say they also arrested Kristie Yoder, 32, Tasha Barnes, 34, and Jessica Moody, 29.

Each suspect is charged as follows:

  • Yoder, of Connelly Springs, is charged with Possession of Schedule II Substance (Meth)
  • Moody, of Morganton, is charged with Possession of Marijuana up to half an ounce
  • Barnes, of Morganton, is charged with Possession of Schedule II Substance (Meth), Possession of Controlled Substance on Prison/Jail Premises, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Cole, of Morganton, is charged with three counts Felony Probation Violation, two counts Misdemeanor Probation Violation, Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Pl for Controlled Substance, and Possession of Methamphetamine

Deputies say Moody and Barnes were also found to be in the possession of a controlled substance once they arrived at the jail. Additional warrants have been issued.
