Blustery Start to the Week
Freezing start with wind chills in the single digits and teens across the Piedmont and well below zero across the mountains. Wind Chill Advisory in place until 10am for mountains. The wind is whipping across the higher elevations with sustained winds 25-30 mph and gusts 40 mph+. Winds will gradually die down today with highs reaching the mid 30s, but it will feel more like the upper 20s to lower 30s. Freezing again tonight with lows in the teens and 20s. Highs tomorrow reach the low 40s under sunny skies. Big warm up on Wednesday, ahead of our next cold front. Highs will reach the mid 50s. Rain moves in late Wednesday through Thursday. Cold returns for the weekend.
