NBA All-Star Weekend will take place Feb. 15-17, 2019.Β During these dates, the Charlotte Transportation Center will be relocated to the surface parking lot across from the 7thΒ Street Station parking deck.Β The temporary transit center will provide:
- Pass sales and information
- Connections to other CATS bus routes
- Heated customer waiting area
- Restrooms
- On site safety and security personnel
CATS Bus ServiceΒ Β
At the relocated transportation center, customers can transfer to other bus routes. Express bus service will be located at Brevard Street between 7thΒ and 8thΒ Streets.Β Express customers who typically board at the 4thΒ St. side of the CTC will need to board express buses at this location. Look for the yellow sign that says, “Express Routes”. Connections to the LYNX Blue Line can be made at 7thΒ St. Station.
The SouthPark Community Transit Center will be closed Feb. 15-17.Β The community transit center is located in the parking deck of SouthPark Mall between Belk and Dillard’s.Β Bus service will be provided at existing CATS bus stops on Morrison Blvd.

Lost and Found Office
Customer Service will accept lost and found items; however, customers cannot pick up items until Monday, Feb. 18th.
Transit IDsΒ will not be made on these βββdays.
LYNX Blue LinβeΒ Β
The LYNX Blue Line will operate during All-Star Weekend; however, additional security measures will be in place. Beginning at 5 p.m. till end of day service on Friday, Feb. 15, Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17, purses, backpacks, suitcases, large tote bags or bulky items will not be allowed on board LYNX trains or at station platforms.ββ
During All-Star Weekend, customers traveling from I-485 to UNC Charlotte must exit at 3rdΒ St. Station; Customers traveling from UNCC Main Station to I-485 must exit at 7thΒ St. Station.Β Β Customers can continue their trip after security sweep has been completed.
On Feb. 15-17 from 5:00 p.m. till end of day service each day, there will be no light rail service at CTC/Arena Station.Β Customers will need to walk to 3rdΒ St. or 7thΒ St. Stations for light rail service.
βCityLYNX Gold Linβe – ClosedΒ Β β
The CityLYNX Gold Line will not be operating Feb. 15-17. Service will be provided via CATS local bus service on routes 9 Central Ave., 15 Randolph Rd, and 27 Monroe Rd. Gold Line Stations will have signage at each station directing you to the nearest bus stop.

How Do I Pay?
The LYNX Blue Line operates as a proof of payment fare collection system. You must have a ticket or pass with a valid date and time to ride. Β Fare for the LYNX Blue Line is $4.40 for a roundtrip. Tickets can be purchased at self-serviceΒ ticket vending machines (TVMs), located at each light rail station or use theΒ CATS Pass Mobile Payment AppΒ for electronic tickets.
Customers riding a CATS bus will need toΒ pay with cashΒ on the bus, and you’ll need exact change. Local bus fare is $2.20 per ride. Operators cannot make change and fareboxes do not accept credit cards. Transfers can be issued upon request once fare is paid.
What’s the schedule?
Four hours before each days first All-Star event, The LYNX Blue LineΒ will operate every 15 minutes.
CATS buses will operate according to their regular schedules.Β Given the anticipated crowds, additional security measures, and traffic conditions, you should anticipate delays.Β We ask that you please plan accordingly.
Where Do I Park?
Customers can ride from any ofΒ 26 light rail stations, beginning at I-485/S. Blvd Station, through Uptown Charlotte to University City. Parking is available at eleven LYNX Blue Line Park and Rides.Β Customers parking at University City Blvd. or J.W. Clay Blvd. parking garages must have a valid pass in order to use the park and ride.
