Lancaster Man Arrested In Rock Hill On Several Outstanding Warrants
LANCASTER, SC — A 33-year-old Lancaster County man was arrested Friday night in Rock Hill on several outstanding drug related warrants.
On Thursday, January 10th, Lancaster County deputies were called to Derrick McIlwain’s home on Home Circle for unrelated charges. McIlwain allowed deputies inside where officials say they noticed several items that prompted cause for a search warrant.
By the time detectives obtained the search warrant and returned to the home however, deputies say McIlwain had left the area.
Inside, authorities say they located and seized 5.1 grams of Heroin, 10.6 grams of Crack Cocaine, 597 grams of Methamphetamine, four grams of Marijuana, six Suboxone strips, drug paraphernalia, a .380 semiautomatic pistol, a .22 revolver, a 12 gauge shotgun, two rifles and $1,571 in cash.
Officials say the shotgun and rifle were reported stolen in December from two separate locations in Lancaster County.
After obtaining warrants for his arrest, deputies say McIlwain was located Friday night at a motel in Rock Hill. He was arrested by Rock Hill Police without incident, and transferred into the custody of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
McIlwain is charged with Trafficking 4-14 Grams of Heroin, Trafficking 10-28 Grams of Crack Cocaine, Trafficking over 400 Grams of Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Suboxone. He is also charged with three counts of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime related to the trafficking charges and two counts of Possession of Stolen Goods 3 rd or Subsequent Property Crime related to the stolen shotgun and rifle.
Deputies say a General Sessions Court bench warrant was also served upon McIlwain for his failure to appear on previous drug charges. Because of the bench warrant, officials say he has been denied bond.
