DAVIDSON, N.C. — Charlotte Water wants Davidson residents to be aware of a construction project that will impact traffic for over a month.
Propst Construction and Charlotte Water are installing a new water pipe that will serve Davidson customers, but will close parts of Lorimer Road from the week of February 11th until the week of March 15th.
The first phase of the project is expected to last two weeks and will close Lorimer Road between Hillside and Chairman Blake Lane.
Charlotte water says Hillside Drive residents will have access to Hillside Drive and drivers should use College Drive as a detour to Concord Road.
Phase two is expected to take three weeks to complete and will close Lorimer Road between Hillside and Chairman Blake Lane. Parking on Lorimer Road and possibly at Village Green will be restricted during the second phase of construction. Drivers should use Chairman Blake Lane as a detour.
Crews will temporarily restore areas disturbed by construction and final restoration will occur after the initial roadway work is complete .
