Morganton Announces Planned Power Outage For Power Pole Replacement Project

MORGANTON, NC — The City of Morganton says there will be two planned power outages on Thursday and Friday so crews can replace power poles.

The first outage is scheduled to begin around 9pm Thursday and will impact roughly 60 customers on Poplar Street, Myrtle Street and Coulter Street. The power is expected to be off for four to five hours while crews replace a pole at Poplar Street and Carbon City Road.

Some customers on Carbon City Road and in Morganton Heights will also experience a brief outage, officials say, but it should last less than a minute while crews switch over circuits.

Once those repairs are complete, officials say crews will move to another location on West Fleming Drive to replace a pole in front of Case Farms. This outage is expected to begin around 12:30am Friday and is only expected to last about one hour.

Roughly 200 customers onΒ Henry’s Glen Drive, Burke Drive, Alwran Street, Ramsey Street, Cline Street, South College Street, State Road, Harry Drive, Morgan Drive, Overlook Street, Simpson Street and Ones Branch Court will be impacted by this outage.
