CHARLOTTE, NC — On February 15th, DeAndre Bembry of the Atlanta Hawks, along with his family’ foundation, AP World, the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, and a list of community partners will host a Pep Rally and Sneaker Drive for the students of Hornets Nest Elementary in honor of All-Star Weekend 2019.
In true All-Star fashion, the North Carolina native will return home to give back to youth in the community, in the midst of such a star studded weekend. Bembry wanted to help the youth understand that academics are just as deserving of “All-Star” style celebrations.
The Pep Rally will consist of Music, Sneaker Giveaways, Award presentations recognizing 36 “Most Improved” scholars and two faculty/staff members, story time led by Bembry for Pre-K and Kindergarten classes, broadcasts from Power 98 and V101.9 FM, special guest appearances and more!
To top off the All-Star student experience, Bembry and his affiliates are accepting sneaker donations as a way to help each member of the student body receive a brand new pair of sneakers during the pep rally. For more information about sneaker donations, click HERE.
