Windy and Drying Out

Hang on to your hats. The wind will be whipping today. Winds will be out of the west from 10-15mph with gusts upwards of 30mph through the Piedmont. A high wind warning for the mountains until 5pm because of strong winds 25-35mph with gusts up to 65mph. Wind will die down overnight as calm conditions return just in time for Valentines Day. Highs will reach the low to mid 60s for Thursday under mostly sunny skies. Clouds fill back in on Friday, but we should dodge the rain for most of the day. Showers return overnight Friday making for a soggy Saturday. As of now looking like the showers will linger not only through Sunday, but even into the early part of the next week, as temps fall into the 40s.
