Β LANCASTER, SC — We’re learning more about a love triangle murder plot stopped by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. Β WCCB Charlotte got a copy of the incident report that outlines what the suspect is accused of plotting.
Investigators say Joseph Hegler wanted to kill his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. Β They say the 19-year-old planned to put sticks or branches across the victim’s driveway so he could kidnap him. Β
Deputies pulled Hegler over after receiving a tip on Sunday. Β They say he was wearing rubber gloves and had a number of items in his car, including a skinning knife set.
