CMPD Charges Suspect In West Charlotte Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged the suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in west Charlotte overnight.

Police say Jamarkus Crawford, 26, is charged with the murder of 52-year-old Titus Campbell.

On Wednesday, February 20th, at about 3:38 a.m., officers responded to a call for service at a residence in the 4100 block of Tresevant Avenue.

Arriving officers located Campbell suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence.  Medic pronounced Campbell dead at the scene.

The case is still under investigation and more information will be released as it develops.
