KANNAPOLIS, NC — A home was destroyed after fire broke out at a home Monday morning.

The fire happened around 11am at a home on South Little Texas Road. Two people were inside at the time of the fire, officials say, but were able to escape without injury.
Kannapolis fire officials say the house was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading despite heavy winds, but crews were unable to save the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
