Two Arrested In Connection With West Charlotte Double Murder

The Latest(3/1/19):

The CMPD has charged 18-year-old Furqan Grice and 18-year-old Anthony Goodson for their involvement in the murders of Ibn Marshall and Anu’bius Smith.

Homicide Detectives identified Grice and Goodson as suspects and obtained warrants following a continued investigation into the case.

Grice was arrested on Thursday, February 28th, and charged with Murder.

Goodson was arrested this morning and is being interviewed by detectives.

Police have released two 911 calls from last night’s triple shooting in west Charlotte that left two dead and one injured.

One caller describes hearing gunshots while on the phone with dispatch, and seeing a suspect throw the gun into a trash can as police arrive. Click the links below to listen:

Update (2/28/19):

The CMPD now says two people are dead and one person injured following a triple shooting in west Charlotte Wednesday night.

At about  9:10 p.m. on Wednesday night, CMPD officers responded to a call for service near the intersection of West Morehead Street and Grandin Road.

Arriving officers located a victim with apparent gunshot wounds in the parking lot located at 1432 W. Morehead Street.

Police say two other victims were found in a vehicle about two blocks away in the 600 block of Grandin Road.

MEDIC transported all three victims to the hospital.

Ibn Marshall, 17, and Anu’bius Smith, 18, were both pronounced dead at the hospital.  Officials have not updated the status of the third male victim.

Investigators have determined that all three victims were shot in the 600 block of Grandin Road.  Detectives say two victims remained inside the vehicle, while one victim ran to the parking lot down the street.

Two firearms and marijuana were recovered from the crime scene.   Authorities have not released any information regarding suspects.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Detectives are investigating a homicide in west Charlotte after three people were shot, including one dead.

The shooting happened around 9:15pm on Grandin Road near Wesley Heights. Officials say three people were shot and one is dead.

CMPD has not released any information on possible suspects or may have led to the shooting.
