UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A 6th grade East Union student got the surprise of his life Friday morning.Β Drekius Tanner was sitting in class when he was told he had a visitor.Β
When he turned around, his father Jermerick Rushing, who is a Petty Officer 3rd Class in the Navy, was at the door to his classroom.Β Rushing had been deployed with the USΒ Marines since August 2013.Β
