CHARLOTTE, NC — David Chadwick, pastor of Forest Hill Church in South Charlotte, announced Thursday he is stepping down from the pulpit after nearly 40 years of service.
The announcement was made in a letter to the congregation, which was posted to the Moments of Hope website Thursday afternoon.

In the letter, Chadwick says the decision came after discussions with his family and the Council of Elders about the future of the church. He says it is his belief that the church would now benefit from new leadership.
Chadwick also says he and his wife Marilynn “feel called to the opportunity to expand our ministry through the work of Moments of Hope, which is positively affecting lives nationally and internationally through our media outreach.”
The 69-year-old pastor came to Forest Hill in 1980. Chadwick says he and Marilynn will remain in Charlotte as they continue to serve the Charlotte region and broaden the focus of his ministry.
