Celtic Celebration 2015

QUEEN CITY BRASS BAND host‘s “Celtic Celebration 2015″ – an afternoon of Celtic Music and Dance Heaton Hall, Myers Park Baptist Church, 1900 Queens Road Charlotte.

Getting ahead of St Patrick‘s Day, the Queen City Brass Band is for the second successive year hosting its Celtic Celebration Concert. The Irish pipe band Ceol na Gael and Irish Dance School Rince Na H‘Eireann again join them for a fun afternoon at Myers Park Baptist Church on Sunday 22nd February. The concert was first performed last year to promote Celtic music and dance in Charlotte. This year the numbers will cross the spectrum of the ‘Celts‘ – with music and dance from Scotland, Wales and of course Ireland. Included in the program from the band is Phillip Sparke‘s Hymn of the Highlands suite plus Bill Whelan‘s famous River Dance. The Irish Dancers will be showcasing an experienced group including dancers who are heading to this year‘s Irish Dance World Championships in Montreal. Ceol Na Gael Irish Pipe Band will again add the traditional tones of the bagpipes and fervent drums, culminating in a finale where the pipes and brass perform together. Tickets are $10 each and available at www.qcbb.org , www.ceolnagael.com or at the door subject to availability. All proceeds are shared among the groups and go toward their fund raising activities. The concert is sponsored by Connolly‘s on Fifth.
